CURTIS STATE BANK RANKED AMONG SAFEST BANKS
Curtis State Bank located in Curtis, North Platte and soon Purdum, NE (subject to regulatory approval) was recently ranked one of the safest banks in the nation. This is according to a Microsoft News-Money (MSN) list published on July 13.
Nebraska has 22 of the 359 safest banks in the nation. The banks are ranked according to the "Texas Ratio" which considers the amount of defaulted loans with a bank along with the reserves to cover the bad debt. “While the ratio has been excellent at predicting bank failures, it can also be used to find the banks that are the furthest from failure,” according to the MSN report.
