WESTERN NEBRASKA BANK TO PURCHASE PAXTON PONY EXPRESS BANK

Western Nebraska Bank is pleased to announce an agreement to purchase the Paxton, Nebraska branch of Pony Express Community Bank. The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval and expected to be finalized by year-end. Management of both organizations are working together toward a smooth transition. Western Nebraska Bank is owned by Western Bancshares, Inc., a bank holding company led by Michael Kelly of North Platte, Nebraska. Pony Express Bancorp, parent of Pony Express Community Bank, purchased the Bank of Paxton in 2006. Bank of Paxton had been previously owned by the Eginton and Beveridge families since its establishment in 1928.

Person will join existing management team at Western Nebraska Bank, maintain accurate client financial records utilizing the banks’ software, perform customer site inspections, and develop subsequent reports for loan monitoring purposes. Qualified applicant must have a proven track record in business development and desire to be part of the surrounding community.
